Shell Kit

Exterior Log Walls: Only Quality Dry Eastern White Cedar profiled logs are used. For ease of on-site construction, the Cedar Logs are pre-cut to plan specifications, drilled for spiking and numbered.

Gable Ends: Full log, cut to roof pitch on Loft Models.  Single level models have log siding and plywood attached to the gable truss.

Roof Systems: Quality, Factory built, engineered trusses to plan specs, ⁵/8" osb sheathing, pre-painted starter strip and 25 year asphalt shingles (24' valley flashing as required).

Vents: Factory cut screened wood gable vents, and round louvers for all eaves.

Fascia: Random length 1 x 6 dressed pine.

Soffits: Random length tongue and groove durable precision milled cedar.

Windows: Customer choice of many styles- Wood frame, low-E glass (Argon gas filled) with screens and custom rough buck installation frames.

Exterior Doors: To plan specifications, 36" Pre-Hung steel units, or swinging "Garden" style doors, with locksets and rough buck frame.

Loft Support Beams: (Loft models only) 4 x 8 Dressed spruce beams, with metal plates for secure attachment to walls. Exposed tie beams are supplied when required by plan.

Porches and Decks: Joists are treated spruce with joist hangers (support posts are to be supplied by the owner). Cedar decking, posts, railing and decorative pickets. Porch roof is 2 x 6 spruce rafters on a 2 x 8 laminated beam and 6 x 6 dressed cedar support posts.

Additional Shell Kit Materials include: Detailed Log location drawings and clear step by step construction manual.

Two inch log siding for 2 x 10 box joist cover. All required spikes, nails, foam gaskets and caulking are also included. 

Interior Package

Interior Framing: Kiln dried 2 x 4 studs and plate stock, with 2 x 6 framing for support and plumbing walls. Random length precision milled cedar or kiln dried pine tongue and groove V-joint for all wall finishes and complete ceiling area.

Interior Doors:  Six panel pine doors and/or louvered closet bi-folds, including hinges & knobs to plan specifications.

Trims and Mouldings: Beautiful Colonial style pine mouldings, 3 1/2" base - 2 1/2" casings. Door jambs, door stop, cove trims and outside-corner mouldings.

Stairways: Kiln dried pine risers and treads are used over triple 2 x 10 stringers (To second level only). Railings include pine posts (4 x 4), railings (2 x 4) and decorative pickets.

Loft Decking and Railings: Two inch tongue and groove kiln dried pine. Loft railings to match stairway.

Misc. Interior Materials: Loft support posts and all required nails and fasteners.

- Deck steps, beyond the 36" height included
